Somewhere Over (Almost) a Triple Rainbow

Had a family reunion on my dad's side in Gruver over the 4th of July weekend, where I saw about fifty family members, including my grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts (except one), great aunts, great uncles, second cousins, some people to whom I don't know how I am related, and foreign exchange students.

It was really nice seeing everyone again. Our last reunion was in 2007. Gruver is a teensy town lacking even a McDonald's and Wal*Mart. No one locks their doors (except the church), even the vacant houses and everything is within walking distance. I'm pretty sure half the population is my family. That makes more sense to me now, somehow, because I learned that my great-grandfather was mayor of Gruver back in the day. They have one high school, which has been there since the 30s, and has a picture of my Granddad's graduating class and many of his trophies. The whole town is like a time capsule. It was a really cool experience and I'm sure I have the best family ever on the planet, despite all the "pull my finger" jokes.

This is not related, but it's good stuff... Hahaha :]
