When Gravity and Life Join Forces

Lately, I've been taking my dogs and my roommate's dog on jogs/long walks around the neighborhood. It's been good for me since I'm not playing intramural soccer this semester and good for Freja because the poor puppy is trapped in the apartment 24/7 since there's no place for her to run around here. I've never run for fun before in my life, but I have fun taking the dogs and Butch Walker with me.

This post isn't about that. It's about just before that. I've got these athletic shorts that have a tiny pocket on the inside where only my apartment key fits. I'm standing in the hallway after I've locked the apartment door. As I'm putting my key in my pocket, I drop it down my pants. Whups. No big deal, it'll fall out the other end and no one has to know, right?

Wrong. These special athletic shorts also have a sewn-in underwear thing that caught the key. And now I'm locked out. By the way, if you drop Freja's leash, she takes off. Luckily, she didn't notice when that happened. So I was trapped in the hallway, forced to dig through my shorts to get my key before someone came out and saw me.

I figure this embarrassing story is safe to send out into the world because only one person actually looks at this specific corner of the world. Also, I think it's pretty funny. But still, let's not go around telling everyone.

Ooh, and in school news:
- One week left!! Wow.
- Our first assignment in Type and Image was to design and mail out Exhibition Calendar for the campus museum and Jenni's calendar, this other girl's calendar, and my calendar were the finalists! I'm not sure which one they will pick officially yet but I didn't expect her to choose mine so I'm still pretty happy. And if Jenni wins I'll still be happy (but not surprised lol) and the other girl is really nice too. I'm pretty sure she was in my figure drawing class and the one day that it was canceled, and pouring down rain, she drove me to my apartment so I wouldn't have to wait for the bus.
- I GET TO MAKE A BOOK(!) based on a song (CD included). And a fantasy world, and a vector self-portrait, and a trippy self-portrait, by which I mean you pick a word like self-mutilated (why did I think of that first?) and it's a picture of someone chopping themselves up with a chainsaw or something.

YAY PICTURES.

and i love this song hahaha

OH HOW I LAUGHED

hahahahahahhaha............

So seeing my previous entry, the Dawn Treader trailer, made me want to list my all time favorite things. I wanted to write them down just for me but, as I was failing to find paper, I remembered I had a blog for things like this. These are things that are more than just  "favorite movie," or "favorite book." I don't really know how to explain it, but you just have to go with it. Some of them are material things that became something more to me, I guess. I'll do a shortlist and then a detailed one.

1. God
2. Narnia (books, movies, drama cds, you name it)
3. Butch Walker
4. Wicked the Musical

1. God: Obviously not one of the material things. He's been there for me longer than anyone else, never changing, never failing. There's a lot of things I don't know, but without a doubt, I know He's always watching over me. I'd be dead so many times over, a lot of those I probably didn't even notice. I also have nothing to complain about it.

2. Narnia: Another one of those things that's been with me so long, and it also reflects my number one since The Lion/Witch/Wardrobe is the story of Christ, The Magician's Nephew is creation, Prince Caspian is Moses, The Last Battle is Revelation, etc. And the stories themselves are amazing. They were some of the first books I ever read. I watched all the old movies that were half cartoon and Lucy had the same dress as I did. I'm pretty sure Heaven and Narnia have a lot in common.

3. Butch Walker: I learned a lot from this man, which is probably really weird. Thirteen-year-old me discovered his music by accident, thanks to Kazaa automatically downloading "music I might like," and have loved him ever since. A lot of his lyrics reflect ideas that I already lived by, like being original from My Way (So you grew up in a town where everybody's all the same / Like a city full of zombies going by the same name ... I don't want to be the one who does everything like I'm told to). He taught me to tell people the truth about how I felt about them - because you never know when the last time is the last time - in my favorite song of all time, If (Jeannie's Song) (If I could be the chains I'd fall from you and let you fly like an angel / If I could be the pain I'd run from you, so far away / If I could turn the time back just one day, It might just be enough to say, all the things I never said to you / And what you don't know won't hurt you / What you don't show will kill you). I also admire is music genius. Not only are his songs so unique and amazing, (although a lot are silly), but they're also admirable (I'm thinking of Trouble and State Line...). He also fulfills the definition of a true musician because he plays practically every instrument, produces so many bands of various genres (his own band The Marvelous 3, Pete Yorn [three tiems], Bowling for Soup [twice], SR-71, Sevendust, Avril Lavigne [three times], Simple Plan, Midtown, The Donnas, American Hi-Fi, Lindsay Lohan [some of these I wonder...WHY? but oh well], P!NK [twice], Family Force 5, The Academy Is..., The Honorary Title, Hot Hot Heat, Katy Perry, Secondhand Serenade, All Time Low, Weezer, Saosin, Dashboard Confessional, Never Shout Never - to name a few) and yet it seems like hardly anyone know who he is. I'm a little disturbed I wrote more in this section than the God section, but I figure God should be obvious, Butch Walker isn't, lol. I find myself analyzing his songs and stuff, which tells me that I really like it.

4. Wicked: It's more than a musical. It also reflects stuff I've believed since childhood - don't judge. Your worst enemy could turn out to be the best friend you've ever had. I found myself analyzing this, too. The metaphors in the songs... You find love (not just romantic) in the strangest and least expected of places. Dancing through life, and the strange thing: You're life could up changing while you're dancing through!

I will think of more, but for now I have to go to sleep b/c I have class at dawn (8).

Return to Narnia

I freakin' love Narnia. There are really no words. They've done an amazing job with the movies so far. I bet Fox will do even better because Disney is lame and greedy. I'm pretty sure that is a fallacy, but I don't care. Narnia has been my favorite thing since I was 6. Aside from God and my family, I can't say that about anything else.

Let down your...

Pants. HAHA. Sorry, my little Georgia Nicolson that is inside us all leaked out there for a minute. Basically, the short and short of it is that Disney released the teaser trailer for their 3D Rapunzel movie called Tangled. I'm bummed that Kristin Chenoweth isn't going to be in it, but at least Zachary Levi, and Ewan McGregor are going to be! I'm also bummed I don't know anyone as hot as the animated guy in real life.

Have some music while you read! Just click that weird shape you see below:

I wish I knew how to just get it to play while you read but I'm not that skilled. Yet. Bwahaha! However. You need to hear the Tangled preview anyway ;)

Also, I played in Photoshop today :)
